Beatty / Beaty

Is it a typo or do the lastnames of father and sister differ? (Warren Beatty <--> Shirley MacLaine Beaty)

It's not a typo; Beatty's name used to be spelled like his sister's. --Djinn112 02:14, 6 Jul 2004 (UTC)

Daughter "born and raised in Japan"?

Why was their daughter born and raised in Japan when there's no information that MacLaine or her husband lived there? Was she adopted? Somebody please clarify. It's totally unclear as written. Moncrief 20:43, 21 February 2006 (UTC)

Peacock

So where is the juice about Shirley's liaison with Andrew Peacock prior to him becoming Opposition leader in the Australian Parliament, and later Australian Ambassador to the USA? [GR]

Books?

Shouldn't there be a section on her books? And her New Age teachings in general? She used to give workshops, I believe... [not registered]

Solipsism

"many dealing with her new age beliefs, such as solipsism"

Solipsism is a new age belief? And Shirley McLaine is a solipcist? Both these contentions look like drive-by smears to me. I think it falls under: "Controversial material about living persons that is unsourced or poorly sourced must be removed immediately, "

Removed; and the first paragraph retooled. Solipsism is not mentioned in any of her books. Extraterrestrials are mentioned in only one book, and only very briefly (on one or two pages). Softlavender (talk) 09:24, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

The West Side Waltz

This is listed under Filmography, but it actually was a television movie. Shouldn't it be moved to that section? MovieMadness (talk) 14:04, 11 January 2008 (UTC) Why the bizarre digression about Olof Palme?Inquisitivo1 (talk) 04:13, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

Out on a Limb link wrong

The link to Out on a Limb is not the right movie link. This is the actual IMDB movie reference, however the one linked from the article refers to this movie. Which is not hers.

Dates

The date of the move to Waverly is given as an unknown interval 1932-1936. If this was really done when "she was a girl" then it would have to be 1934-1936, wouldn't it? I don't want to fool with someone else's data. Student7 (talk) 21:35, 27 July 2008 (UTC)

Kuchinich's godmother?

Seems unlikely--she was 12 when he was born. Does it mean she was godmother to his children? Hard to say, since the video cited as source is no longer available. · rodii · 22:51, 1 April 2012 (UTC)

Don Seigel and Anthony Hopkins quotes

Two men giving negative opinions about the subject pretty randomly, the former the director of a very minor movie she was in. Anyone else have a problem with this?--Aichikawa (talk) 21:34, 23 August 2012 (UTC)

Awards in the infobox?

It's not important that MacLaine is not a young actress whose future is ahead of her and she's pretty much an establishment, it's not a good reason. It's not usual to include awards in the infobox. Other famous actors and actresses have separate section in their articles for nominations and awards. We can create a section like that and then remove the awards from the infobox.Keivan.fTalk 16:36, 15 August 2013 (UTC)

How is a separate section better than presenting it in a neat table within the infobox? Isn't that why those infobox parameters exist in the first place? Hearfourmewesique (talk) 18:56, 15 August 2013 (UTC)
