Lazarus and Elwyn edit

Lazarus and Elwyn are the proper English names: see Shining Tears. Unless you have an official source stating that Razarus and Elwing is the proper translation, please refrain yourself from changing it. DarkAngel007 21:17, 28 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Articles only use the Japanese names when official English names are unavailable. It is obvious the anime is using the same characters from the Shining Tears and Shining Wind games.
Japanese site for Shining Tears game, using Japanese names
English site for Shining Tears game, using translated English names
Japanese sites of course use the Japanese names; if the Shining Tears game hadn't come out in the US, with translated English names, it would've been correct to use the original names, but since it did, it is correct to use the translated names (under Wikipedia Policy). Besides, unless it states the translated names directly in an image, Japanese sites only gives the romanized names in the properties of the image, not the actual translated names. So, in this case, using Lazarus and Elwyn is the correct names to use in the article.
Unless you have a better reason than the names on the Japanese site, please refrain from changing the names back. And, yes, the anime and games are different, but it does not change the fact that the characters in the anime are based on the characters in the games.
As for 希望: it can be translated into hope or desire, so I'll leave it alone. DarkAngel007 21:02, 6 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
Resolved - I added notes below their names; stating both name translations. DarkAngel007 05:19, 30 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
