Talk:Seven Men from Now

Title edit

The title of this film is actually 7 Men from Now, not Seven Men from Now. In other words, the title uses the numeral "7" rather than the word "Seven." I'm not going to try to force a change to this page, but it seems basically wrong to me to have the film listed this way. Fortunately, if you input the correct title, you at least get redirected to this page.

Merit of the Movie edit

Some have said that this is high on the list, arguably near the top, of the finest westerns ever filmed. For artistic merit as a cowboy flick, it ranks with "High Noon" and "Shane." Of course, the novella "Shane" was better than the movie. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.49.27.38 (talk) 02:08, 8 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Should plans for an unmade remake be included? edit

BrianRothJr added a section on a remake of Seven Men from Now that was never made. I removed his good-faith edit with the rationale that there are many unmade Hollywood projects and that they are not usually notable. I said that Wikipedia generally does not include such failed projects. There is a Wikipedia policy against failed projects having their own articles (see Future films, incomplete films, and undistributed films), but I could find no policy prohibiting sections within articles. So, I have taken BrianRothJr's and my discussion to this talk page to see if a consensus can be reached. --Jeremy Butler (talk) 15:28, 2 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

BrianRothJr's addition: "in 1999, Arnold Schwarzenegger signed a deal with End of Days producer Beacon Pictures to star in a remake of the film.<ref name="ArnoldRemake">{{cite news|url=https://variety.com/1999/film/news/arnold-will-roll-seven-for-beacon-1117755193/|title= Arnold will roll ‘Seven’ for Beacon |publisher=Variety|access-date=July 1, 2021}}</ref> After the failure of 'End of Days' no further developments were reported."
