Delete article?

This is a terrible article. It looks like the introductory passages are simply filler - an excuse to set up the list of educational programs. Even the section on the so-called history of design is really a history of design education rather than a history of service design practice. It almost looks as if the authors have used the main article to include a long list of external links, that would almost certainly be deleted entirely if they were contained in an "External Links" section.

Conceptually the article has many gaps and omissions. It does not mention current theoretical frameworks used in the study of service design (service blueprinting, servicescapes, environmental psychology). But since there are already articles on these topis in wikipedia, (See Service blueprints; Servicescapes) it is questionable as to whether this article is required at all!)

The distinction between service design theory and service design practice is not clearly delineated and needs to be. Important topics like service blueprints are mentioned in passing, but the reader never really gets any real understanding of what a blueprint is, how it is used, why it is important, how to construct a blueprint, or even what it looks like.

I would recommend deleting this article, or at the very least deleting the long list of educational programs and reworking the remaining article to reflect the current thinking in the area of service design - from designing service products through to designing service spaces. This article needs a lot of work, including an total reconceptualisation and restructure before it could be useful to students of design. BronHiggs (talk) 21:12, 8 January 2017 (UTC)

I have been working on cleaning up this article, with other editors. It appears the education lists are now gone, and we have been trying to clean up the citation style to reflect in line citations. I would love to see this article get more into the theory behind service design by someone that knows more about this topic. Jooojay (talk) 09:37, 27 February 2018 (UTC)
