Picture from lukeisback edit

Folks, the picture is of Serena. It is uncontestably her... compare it to the current image found on www.classicpornserena.com if you don't doubt me. Yes she does look her age... but it a free use image, which is a major point in it's favor. After all, the mission of Wikipedia is to "create a free content ("free" as in "free speech") encyclopedia under a free license". If you feel the article needs locking, be my guest and try to get it locked... but that pic will still be on the article! Tabercil 06:27, 2 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I was asked to protect the page, since there's an edit war going on about the picture in question. I won't protect the page, but edit warring is never the way to go. One option is to start a request for comment so you can get more opinions about whether the picture should be included. --Akhilleus (talk) 22:10, 2 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
Well I would appreciate hearing from the other user as to why he keeps pulling the image out. Bland statements about it being "embarrassing" and "inappropriate" are insufficient in my opinion as to why this free-use image of Serena should not be allowed onto the article. But if you feel that an RFC would solve the issue, then I suppose we can go that way... - Tabercil 22:39, 2 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Request for comment: Image from lukeisback.com edit

This is about a dispute on whether an image from lukeisback.com of Serena (which can be seen here) should be in the article.

Statements by editors previously involved in dispute
  • The image should be in the article. The image is unquestionable that of Serena and the license is suitable. As well, there are other articles on Wikipedia of notable porn stars from the 70s and 80s where the image used on it is one taken when the star was far older. Two that come to mind are Seka and Cara Lott. Tabercil 22:49, 2 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
  • The image Image:Serena_DSC_0001.JPG depicts an old woman as the main illustration for an article about 80s erotic actress, which looks like a joke. Since the article is not about Serena Robinson (depicted in the disputed image), but Serena the actress, another image should be placed, and rationale that it's the only one we have is not a proper one. There's an abundance of articles w/out actor images on Wikipedia, simply because no image is better than a bad/wrong image.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 66.232.153.106 (talkcontribs) 18:10, June 2, 2007 (UTC)

  • The image is kind of creepy, especially when reading a porn article. But it is a free image and it does look her her. Endorse addition of image. -N 22:59, 2 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
  • The article should cover, as thoroughly as it can, all of Robinson's life, not just her career as an erotic actress. The free image works fine to identify who she is. ShadowHalo 00:28, 3 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
  • Image is ridiculous, does not belong. Makes as little sense as adding Serena's child picture. Definitely does not identify her. Remove. Child of the Corn 03:42, 3 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
  • See also Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons#People who are relatively unknown. The older image is irrelevant to the reason this person has an article, and even moreso does not belong in the infobox. —Centrxtalk • 06:43, 3 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
  • +1 to remove. Article is about "Serena (porn actress)". I erased the strange (Infobox) picture before, but somehow it gets stubbornly added back on the grounds that it's free. We could place the IMDB's Cabalero image there instead. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 80.93.211.120 (talkcontribs) 21:44, June 7, 2007 (UTC)
  • Keep the image. The (porn actress) is to qualify her from other Serenas, the article is still about her, not just her character. The IMDB image is not clearly free for us to use. --AnonEMouse (squeak) 16:52, 8 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
  • I believe the image is appropriate for inclusion in the article, however, I do not believe it should be the infobox image. Rather, the article should be expanded and the image should be included nearer the end. LaraLoveT/C 16:00, 11 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
  • I am uninvolved editor who came here through the RfC, and agree with the image's relocation as per Laralove. However, WP:NPF applies, so it is not appropriate as an infobox image. east.718 18:36, 24 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
  • If it's really her, I think the picture should remain and I would advocate doing the same for other porn stars whose salad days are behind them. It's interesting to see what they look like now. This is my first entry - I'm no longer a Wikivirgin.Lonewuf 23:43, 14 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
  • I've just wandered to the article, and I think that such images discredit Wikipedia as a serious source of information. I think while there are people with particular opinions, someone who administers the library should clean this up.

I would remove the 'old' Serena by all means, at least from the InfoBox, and move it downstairs into a section like 'Serena Today', for instance. 19:06, 6 October 2007 (UTC)

  • I notice that some effort appears to be being made to use recent photographs of adult film stars of the 70's through 90's, when most of them have lost some or most of their attractiveness. Contrast this to the 1968 picture of Brigette Bardot in her Wiki Article. This strikes me as a subtle but definite violation of the Wikipedia policy against expressing bias. LSD edit

Her daughter's name, Lucy Sky Diamond Blaquelord, in addition to being a reference to one of the Beatles most famous songs, appears to be an even more explicit reference to the hallucinogen LSD, an issue also loudly raised regarding the song. Does anyone have anything to contribute on the subject of Serena's involvement with hallucinogens? Dick Kimball (talk) 22:28, 5 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

(actress)/(pornographic actress) RfC edit

An RfC which may affect this article's title is currently taking place (Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Pornography#RfC: Should a person who has appeared in exclusively pornographic films be described as "(actor/-tress)" or "(pornographic actor/-tress)"?).
