Amazon review edit

Regarding this line, moved from the article to here:

The daughter of Bessie Goldberg has asserted in her Amazon.com customer review that Junger's story is not accurate. http://www.amazon.com/gp/cdp/member-reviews/A3JF0SNW827OX0/ref=cm_cr_pr_auth_rev?ie=UTF8&sort%5Fby=MostRecentReview

Linking to an amazon review isn't reliable per WP:RS. We have no way to verify the post was made by Goldberg. Even if we knew for sure, the assertion is hardly notable, and the way its worded in the Wikipedia article is misleading, suggesting Jungers book is entirely wrong. Reading the follow up comments to that review, other people who have read the book seem to be saying it's of no consequence. 71.191.40.106 (talk) 14:19, 14 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Cleanup edit

Structure sucks. Move excessive detail out of lead. + "Bibliography and filmography" or "List of works" section, broken up with non-indexed headings.

description
In his breakout bestseller, The Perfect Storm, Sebastian Junger created "a wild ride that brilliantly captures the awesome power of the raging sea and the often futile attempts of humans to withstand it" (Los Angeles Times Book Review). Now, Junger turns his brilliant and empathetic eye to the reality of combat--the fear, the honor, and the trust among men in an extreme situation whose survival depends on their absolute commitment to one another. His on-the-ground account follows a single platoon through a 15-month tour of duty in the most dangerous outpost in Afghanistan's Korengal Valley. Through the experiences of these young men at war, he shows what it means to fight, to serve, and to face down mortal danger on a daily basis.

Restrepo and WAR Sections edit

Hi all, I think the information for Restrepo and WAR could benefit from an update. Specifically, I wanted to:

  • expand description to give more context
  • add wikilinks where appropriate
  • add additional reliable sources

I've created a draft on my user page here. Before I make the changes, I'd appreciate anyone's thoughts on my suggested edits. Kelseyss (talk) 21:10, 5 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
