Married couples separated during EPF and other details edit
Finding a reliable secondary source for this ("Married couples are separated for the duration of the EPF and are not allowed to have private or intimate contact with each other.") is proving to be difficult, even though it is a solid indisputable fact. Even though we're in 2020, there is still little written about the many details and quirks of the EPF. It does not appear to be in A Piece of Blue Sky or Bare-faced Messiah. There is also further complication as those books were written many years ago and the EPF today is quite different. If there are any recent secondary and verifiable sources on the EPF, this would be helpful to list here as we can get this article up to GA status, as well as strengthen the case for the EPF having its own article, which it does deserve but cannot be justified at this time due to lack of proper sources. There is much focus on the RPF, but the EPF still remains obscure and practically unknown in the mainstream. Laval (talk) 14:27, 13 November 2020 (UTC)
Consolidation of EPF in Los Angeles edit
We also need a reliable source covering the date and reasons for the consolidation of the various individual L.A. area EPFs under a single EPF unit at PAC Base. Laval (talk) 15:21, 13 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Laval: I can tell you that since at least the mid-1990s the EPF was its own unit at PAC Base. I guess since all the orgs are adjacent to each other, and since EPFers are not yet Sea Org members, it made sense to have one EPF. I don't know if there ever were separate EPFs for each org at PAC Base. I found one small reference in Reitman's book: "Induction into the Sea Org begins with a boot camp known as the Estates Project Force, or EPF. In Los Angeles, the EPF is located at the Pacific Area Command Base (PAC Base) on Sunset Boulevard."[1]: 316 In Marc Headley's book Blown for Good, the EPF even for other non-PAC Base Sea Org orgs was at PAC Base.[2]: 47-48 I seem to recall he also wrote about Gold Base disbanding their RPF from Happy Valley and sending all RPFers to PAC Base RPF (but that's not EPF). Code of a Sea Org member edit
The 18-point Code of a Sea Org member is mentioned in the article. I've found it published on pages 54-56 of New Religious Movements and Religious Liberty in America (2004, Davis and Hankins).[1] Should the whole code, or an excerpt be quoted in the article? It's kind of interesting, because it mentions the purpose of the Sea Org. It's part of the swearing-in ceremony for new Sea Org members, and is re-sworn each year on Sea Org Day (August 12).[1]: 56 Grorp (talk) 02:10, 8 February 2023 (UTC)
