Needs sections. Also, what is 'recent'? edit

I think this article needs more structure than is curently the case. It also has a couple of references to 'recent' events which need making more certain ('recent' is unhelpful if you're reading the article in 5 years' time). I'll attempt a restructure if no-one objects.
