Kemp or gare? edit
Cwmhiraeth added here a bit about the wool being free from kemp. That may well be correct; what the sources say is " ... priva di giarra ...". "Giarra" is not a common word (and is mis-spelt, "giara", in the breed standard!); none of my dictionaries have it. However – without any reliable source to support my belief - I believe it to be gare not kemp (see, e.g., this source for an explanation of the difference). I'm happy to be told I'm wrong here, but have – pending clarification – removed that statement from the article. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 18:09, 16 August 2015 (UTC)

- Thank you; I believe it's safer to omit it until we can be sure that the translation is correct. Unfortunately agraria.org is not a reliable source. Their page on the Savoiarda includes this: "... the tail is long and thin. Only rams are horned. The fleece was described as mattress type, 120–150 mm long, with no kemp." That is not a translation of the Italian page, which is copied virtually verbatim from the breed standard. The stuff about the tail and the mattresses appears to have been borrowed from some other breed or made up from whole cloth, and what it says about the horns is not what the other, more reliable, sources give (I've altered the description a bit to reflect what those other sources say).
