Showing why he is an "origami master" edit

I was the one who placed the speedy deletion article and it was in good faith. It seemed to me (uneducated in the world of origami") that this may have been a simple vanity page. From the admin taking off the post, I took it upon myself to search (google) and find out more about this person. In that sense, the article was "failing", at least for me. Personally, I would like to see more mention of the books published by and/or on Kamiyas such as this one. Also, have there been any interviews or articles specifically on Kamiya? I hope this gives other editors food-for-thought about adding to the article. I will be stepping away now as I feel this is in good hands. Well, my googling indicated notability. Though I accept that opinions can certainly differ. --Fang Aili talk 14:52, 20 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Japanese name edit

Is it 神谷哲史? Unfortunately I can only read the characters, not pronounce them in Japanese :-) Kusma (討論) 03:07, 20 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Born in 1981 edit

Personal website states that he was born in 1981 (and not 1983 as this article earlier stated). Shinhan 13:18, 28 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Don't delete, improve edit

From all research, I think this is a very notable person, and don't think this article should be removed, so much as redone. It really does not verify most of its claims, and I think calling him the most advanced origami expert is in bad taste. Research does indicate he is one of the reigning champions of origami, but using superlatives as in calling a person the most advanced person of any subject is generally only opinion and not appropriate for Wikipedia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.173.111.26 (talk) 22:19, 16 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Bias edit

The first few sentences read like a brochure... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.154.23.63 (talk) 01:13, 21 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
