Silver Age revival

It is my understanding—second hand, I freely concede— that Sargon's few Silver Age appearances cast him as a villain. Certainly I read a later guest appearance somewhere (in a World's Finest Comics back-up feature during its run in the so-called "Dollar Comics" giant format, IIRC) that suggested that the Ruby had temporarily corrupted him on a prior occasion; this sounded very much like a throw-away excuse for Sargon being depicted as a hero "now" after having been a villain "then." So can anyone verify this claim of the JLA granting the Sorcerer an honorary membership in their 99th issue? --Ted Watson (talk) 22:04, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
