And Then There Were None. edit

It is with great sadness that I say that ST 643 has been removed from the PAR roster as of January 2012. She was most likely scrapped. Mcoov (talk) 05:47, 25 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Prime Mover edit

This article states that the original 567D3 was replaced with a new 645E3. This is contrary to what I've read elsewhere, as well as what I've been told by a man who worked on these units at Guilford, who said that the units received "new 645 power assemblies" but that "the rest of the engine remained basically original."

With that in mind, I have added a "citation needed" tag to that section of the article, in hopes that someone will provide a reliable source for the claim that these units received complete 645 transplants.

BMRR you are correct. The SD26 program included new 645 power assemblies, not engines. If Santa Fe would have gone to the trouble of reengining the units they would have had new generators as well and would have been rated at 3000 horsepower. When I get my library unpacked I will look it up in Priest or X2200South or if anyone else would care to look it up. --SSW9389 20:33, 30 August 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by SSW9389 (talkcontribs)
