I think her photo is inappropriate in its current state edit

[Edit: I removed it now and restored the previous one, this is the photo I was talking about: File:Susanne "Sanne" Ledermann (October 7, 1928 – November 19, 1943).jpg]

  1. The user who uploaded the photo declared it as "own work" and released it under a CC license. To do this they'd need to have photographed it themselves or at least own the copyright. I very much doubt that. Looks more like they downloaded the photo from https://www.joodsmonument.nl/en/page/183776/susanna-ledermann or somewhere similar. Then they colorized and heavily photopshopped it. Colorizing someone else's photo does not make it your "own work". To be able to release it under CC they'd still need to get permission from the original copyright holders i.e. the surviving family of this Nazi murder victim! I see no reason to believe the uploader has permission to do so.
  2. Sanne Ledermann was murdered in Auschwitz 1943. The original photo (higher resolution here) is black/white. Artificially colorizing it, with 'sparkly' background etc. distorts reality completely. They gave her gray-green eyes, but how would they know, from the B/W photo you can't tell. [Edit: A bit of research turns out her eyes were, in fact, not gray-green!] They made her shirt light blue with white collar; that, too, is a lie. The original B/W photo looks like the shirt was uniformly white, but it might be some other light color, you can't actually tell. Wikipedia is about truth, not about making history pretty. [Edit: They also removed the clip in her hair, cleaned up her eyebrows, gave her denser eyelashes, erased impurities on her skin, applied a bit of digital lipstick. I'd like to get more clear here: It disgusts me how someone tried to make a 15-year-old genocide victim look sexy post-mortem!]

BTW, same user also uploaded a fake color photo of Anne Frank, also declared "own work". [Edit: Franks's page is protected, probably that's why uploader couldn't insert the photo there like they did with Ledermann's.]
