Merge edit

merge as per Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Scouting/RulesStandards. Our intent is not to delete anyone's work or to minimize the importance of any article that already exists on the Wikipedia. Instead our goal is to tighten the information, to make it more relevant and useful for the general Wikipedian. This article will be absorbed in its entirety to the larger state Scouting article. The newer article will encompass OA lodges, Councils, early nonBSA Scouting organizations like Campfire or Woodcraft, Girl Scouting where applicable, and other ideas as they come up.Chris 06:38, 28 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Reinstate edit

I found new information and am reinstating the article. --evrik (talk) 17:02, 24 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Camp Cherry Valley merge edit

Council camps exist to serve the council; Camp Cherry Valley does not establish notability outside of the council. --—— Gadget850 (Ed) talk - 20:09, 29 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Oppose Please show me the BSA policy, and the wikipedia policy that says, "Council camps exist to serve the council." Failing that, the article on the camp is longer than the one about the council. The camp gets 277,000 google hits [1]. That alone is good enough for notability. The cove and the camp get USGS mention. How many more reasons are needed? Comment I extrapolate this from the same reasoning the BSA gives for OA lodges: "The lodge is not a separate entity unto itself. It is an integral part of the council operation and exists only because the council exists." BTW: Refining the search to "Camp Cherry Valley" scouts gets a lot fewer hits; all of the top hits are from unit and council sites. The camp is notable enough to be included in the council article, but there is nothing in the current article that differentiates it from any other Scout camp. --—— Gadget850 (Ed) talk - 14:21, 3 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Merge into Greater Los Angeles Area Council? edit

Given that GLAAC has long since subsumed LAAC and SGVC, it seems appropriate to merge them. Jordan Brown (talk) 21:46, 15 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
