References and requirements edit

I wonder if that's so: It is an obligate piezophile, and requires pressures of 102 MPa to grow. [1]
and tried to check out the source: You don't have permission to access /~pavlov/Teaching/PTYS214/Lectures/Lecture_16.ppt on this server.
I've also locked for other sources to confirming this but did't find any. I'm very sceptical because there are just a few places on earth with a pressure above 100MPa. So maybe they tolerate high pressure, but don't require it.--FrankBu (talk) 13:55, 30 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

As yet I'm unable to find any source that states they are obligates, while I have found one which implies that they can be grown in-vitro at 1atm and room temperature, I'll keep having a look, but if I can't find anything, I'll remove this. Cjeam (talk) 03:49, 20 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Additional Note edit

I had the same concerns as the comment above. I have yet to find any sources to confirm. The lack of a pure culture at any pressure is inconclusive. The first source, lecture notes, is inaccessible and should not have been used as a source in the first place. I have deleted the word from the initial description. 6 May 2015.
