Significance of Sackets Harbor in 19th c. edit

I added material to show the historic military significance of Sackets Harbor during the War of 1812 and the 19th c. Americans don't think of the northern border as being an area as much in dispute as it was. Some historians tend to classify the War of 1812 as a continuation or another episode of the Revolutionary War. The village had significance beyond its current small population and status as destination for heritage tourism. --Parkwells 17:11, 27 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Adding more details and numbers on troop buildup for the War of 1812 provides context for understanding both the state of the village and impact of war operations.--Parkwells 22:04, 30 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Are the dates relating to the establishment and move of Co. B in 1833 really significant enough for internal links? --Parkwells 22:04, 30 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Not sure about all that, but developing the linked NRHP historic district article, which itself has link to NRHP nomination document (usually a v. good source), would help. Some of that development could then be summarized in this article. --doncram (talk) 13:39, 20 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

It seems strange for a tourist destination to have no photos. If you are going there can you take some to illustrate this article? filceolaire (talk) 13:19, 13 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
