I can't find a citation for this:

Neill Hill committed suicide in 1983.

so I removed it from the article for the moment, because there is conflicting information, this interview from 1982: http://home.scarlet.be/~spk/spktonedeathnov82-1.htm says that NI/H/IL (not "Neil Hill") had already died, so the 1983 date can't be correct. clarkk 07:16, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

There is a "NE/H/IL" credited on the Leichenschrei CD (along with "Oblivion" and "Pinker"; I assume the former is Graeme Revell). "NE/H/IL" is also mentioned in the RE/Search book but there's no mention (that I can find) of Neil Hill. I'm not sure this helps... -- Gyrofrog (talk) 07:37, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

Yes there was a Neil Hill in SPK - he died in early 1984 as described in the notes. We shared a house together in 1982-83. He recorded many of the rythym/drums and sounds with drum machines and a variety of analog synths (including Moog) in the house. The screaming on Leichenshrei was recorded at home and was interrupted by police when a neighbour complained. Still very sadly missed DRM 7/5/2007

Fellow band member, David Virgin, who was recruited by Nihil says "Sadly, Nihil the singer died after the second single was released". See "S.P.K. and the Music Industrial" at the i94bar interview from 27 August 2008. According to McFarlane the second single, "Factory", was issued in August 1979. If, however, Virgin means the second album, Leichenschrei, it was recorded in October 1981 to March 1982, and then released in 1982. A better source(s) is required for Hill's suicide and his wife's death in February 1984.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 04:08, 28 February 2012 (UTC)

Yes, there was definitely a Neil Hill, but he wasn't generally known by that name, in fact I think his REAL name was Stephen Hill. I knew him as Zil, because he changed his name so often, I decided to stick with that one. It suited. Met him through the Young Communists, I think, or Syd Uni Filmmakers Group - much the same crowd in the day. He moved in to my place, a terrace house off City Road, Sydney around 1977. Graeme Revell arrived from NZ and moved in a few months later. THAT is how they met. Zil was a psych nurse, Graeme was not, he was an Earnest Student w no interest in music at that time, whereas Zil was passionate about new music; one song I remember being on High Rotation in the house being O Bondage Up Yours. I went overseas fo 18 months, during which time they formed SPK, and got kicked out of the house for running a 'house of ill-repute' aka brothel. Zil always said he'd kill himself before he was 'old', and he did, but the reasons were far more complicated. SepPuKu and Surgikal Penis Klinik were the Only names they ever told me, for the origins o SPK. I loved Zil, and still miss him, always. Shelley Roye.

Autodafe Compilation

The original Autodafe-compilation was made by Walter Ullbricht Schallfolien Label from Hamburg, Germany. There were two covers. One blue with picture of concrete steps and the tracklisting/info on it and an grey one (wich is later used for the CD-version by Grey Area)with some tortured ancient chinese on it. The grey one is the more common, seams the Band didn't like the blue one. Track listing (grey) was on an insert postcard with some bondage stuff on other side. The grey cover was also used for the japanese edition from 1986. On both versions the bands name is abbreviated as SPK (grey) and s.p.k. (blue). The Grey Area cd version from 1993 has instead "SePuKu" in red/black letters, because of including the Decomopitions EP (Sepuku)of 1983.
