Temporary seating edit

Does anyone have any information on the temporary seating that was used for the Louisville game? I think that would be important to point out as the article makes it seem like 44,111 were crammed into a stadium of 41,500 when in reality, there were extra accomodtations provided. What kind of information? They were bleachers that were kept there for the 2007 season also.

Metros32, I agree with you, and the bleachers have been mentioned in the opening paragraph of the article as well as in the same paragraph as the Louisville game in the History section, neither with a reference though. - idunno271828 (talk) 06:44, 20 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
I just realized that the image of Rutgers Stadium (in the FactBox), i.e., RUFootballStadium.jpg, actually shows the bleachers! That's gotta be reference enough, I'd hope. - idunno271828 (talk) 06:09, 23 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Article Revision (September 20, 2008) edit

I have pretty much overhauled the entire article, and have added several references as well. I pulled the following text from the previous version (prior to my first edit), and I feel it should be included in under Other events hosted but I don't really understand the material (it is about HS football right?), and do not have references for it:

"It has also hosted the North-South All-Star Game between teams organized by exceptional New Jersey senior football players from North and South Jersey, and the Governor's Bowl, between New Jersey and New York State players, in alternating years. Michie Stadium in West Point, New York hosts the latter game in the other seasons." - idunno271828 (talk)

Stadium expansion - edits and references (October 2, 2008) edit

1. I have removed the following phrase from the "Stadium expansion" section:

"(a recent tally put monies collected at under $2 million -- "

Reason for removal: The reference provided (which has been retained) does not explicitly provide the "$2MM number. The reference does explicitly mention donations of $1MM and $92,962, but these numbers are time-sensitive, and more importantly the sum of the two is much smaller than $2MM.

2. I have also removed the following sentence, and the subsequent reference:

Doubts have also arisen over the likelihood that Rutgers will be able to sell bonds in the midst of a nationwide credit crisis.
Reference that was provided: Credit Crisis Is Bad News for Colleges Rampell, C. Economix. October 1, 2008. Retrieved on October 2, 2008.

Reason for removal: The reference does not explicitly support the sentence removed. Furthermore, it does not address the ability, or lack thereof, of Rutgers University to sell bonds. I feel that the suggested connection between the deleted assertion and the reference provided is weak, at best.

3. The following sentence, which was at the end of the article, has also been removed:

"Funding concerns have left many skeptical that the stadium expansion will proceed into Phase 2."
Reference that was provided: Addiego Calls on Legislature to Address Accountability/Oversight of State Colleges. Press Release. PolitickerNJ.com September 22, 2008. Retrieved on October 2, 2008.

Reason for removal: Redundancy of information, and the reference provided does not explicitly support the sentence removed. In addition, the sentence quoted below, from the reference, is the only mention of the problems with funding the stadium expansion project. In fact, it is provides the exact same information as in reference 12, which has already been mentioned in the article.

"In recent weeks it has been reported that the fundraising effort that was intended to raise private dollars to support the expansion of Rutgers Stadium has failed to generate the funding needed to cover a $30 million gap in the project’s financing."

Can we get some info on the stadium expansion? edit

Why is almost nothing said about the stadium expansion? Faculty hate the massive non-academic expense. It hasn't given the slightest indication of recouping. etc. 67.85.188.249 (talk) 01:39, 5 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Dead links edit

Links 5-9 are dead. Should be replaced with http://skcom.rutgers.edu/football/history/stadium.asp

There are no retroactive naming rights edit

I recently reverted a change on the Big Ten LaCrosse Championship. It was not at SHI Stadium. It was at sitepoint.com stadium n May 2019. In July 2019 SHI Stadium received naming rights. That is for FUTURE events. This article, in several places, claims events occurred at SHI Stadium, when in fact it occurred at sitepoint.com stadium. PRECEDENCE: Super Bowl XX (among others) was not played at the Mercedez Benz Superdome. It was played at the Louisiana Superdome. This has to stop. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Super_Bowl
