Judge of High court and Supreme court edit

The articles says he was made permanent judge of Karnataka High court in 1998. But it also says he was made Supreme court judge in 1997. How is this possible? A person cannot be judge of both the courts at the same time. Neither can he first become judge of supreme court and then high court.124.124.230.149 (talk) 07:20, 29 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
