The name Słubice edit
What does Słubice means? Does it have any connection with Frankfurt? Is it the name of a nearby village? Meursault2004 17:23, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
- It is a modernized version of the name of Zliwitz, a Slavic (ie, Polish) settlement mentioned in Frankfurt's charter in 1253, the exact location of which is unclear. FWIW, Poland's Lubusz Voivodeship is named for Lebus, 20 km north of Frankfurt, the ancient bishopric. ProhibitOnions (T) 20:34, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

Frankfurt edit
This article should include the fact that before the border changes promulgated under the Potdam Accords in 1945, Słubice was the eastern part of Frankfurt an der Oder, Germany. (Cf. the entry on Gubin.)
