Under the official rules that govern the sport, he did not fall. He stumbled on them, but they are not falls and were not given automatic deductions. This is a fact.
Furthermore, to mention that he performed two quads poorly in the long program, but to leave out the fact that he performed a perfectly fine quad (and in combination to boot) in the short program which is why he had the buffer over Dornbush would be biased.
The proper edit, IMO, is to take all of the emotion out of this and simply mention his 1st place in the short, 4th place in the free, 1st overall rankings. I have edited it to do so. 108.71.52.30 (talk) 21:11, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
It's not emotion. It doesn't matter that he didn't fall, but he DID NOT skate a clean free program. Not clean at all, in fact. I have no emotions at all and I happen to enjoy his skating. Just not this time. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.38.117.162 (talk) 21:44, 2 February 2011 (UTC)
This isn't about him having a clean free skate. To include the errors he made in the free without mentioning the clean short isn't really right (and you called the free skate errors falls which was incorrect because a fall has a very specific meaning in the official rules). There is no reason to mention one program and not the other, so I worded it in a way that makes it clear that he placed fourth in the free, first in the short and first overall.
