While Rutland claims to be the geographical center of Massachusetts, there is no evidence that this is true. edit
A 1964 USGS publication places the geographic center in the "North Part of City of Worcester."[1]
An open source software project places the geographic center (centroid of the land border, center of mass/gravity) in an Audubon park in the Southern Worcester.[2]
