Moving from Water Polo Main Article edit

I have started to move items over from the main Water Polo Article page. There is still a need for some brief history on the rules, as well as a better summary. Once we have this page flushed out we can start to edit down the sections on the main page to help clean that up. Apriestofgix (talk) 18:33, 4 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Duration of quarters for High School and various age groups in USA Water Polo edit

The duration of quarters for the age groups varies between tournaments. I've seen 12 and up play at 7 minute quarters and all the way down to 5 minute quarters. So it depends.

As for high school, F/S games are typically 5 minute quarters, JV being 6 minutes, and Varsity with 7 minutes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.216.156.221 (talk) 03:30, 30 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

According to the NFHS rules, all periods should be 7 min. [1] That said I do know that F/S, and JV games are typically shorter. If we can get some citation on these that help back that up, then we get these updated. Apriestofgix (talk) 15:45, 31 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

The NFHS rules allow for Varsity games to be 7 minutes quarters and all other games that are not varsity to be 6 minutes. This is also located in the CIF-SS Blue book rules. [2] Silencedknight (talk) 07:17, 8 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Gameplay section edit

It strikes me that this is a very inappropriate article to contain the gameplay section, which consists almost entirely of a walk through of a game and tactics. Few rules are mentioned here. What would be better to do in my opinion would be to go through the various sections of a rule book (probably FINA) and discuss the important rules covered in each section, possibly in table format. Just a suggestion. JZCL 00:21, 14 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I understand that the water polo rules section needs a little bit more work. I've been trying to clean up the language and make it a bit smoother. I have also noted rule differences, although FINA is the international governing body. Silencedknight (talk) 07:17, 8 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
