Where is the source for this spelling of Rudy Vallee's name with an accent over the first e? Never in his long career did he ever spell his name this way. References are misidentified here as using this spelling when they do not. For instance, the "official" website. This may have been a family spelling, or a childhood one, I don't know, but it was never used by Vallee as an adult in his career. For another instance there was never any such thing as the "Rudy Vallėe Show" on television. I think this speling is a serious error that needs to be corrected.Markhh (talk) 03:03, 1 July 2015 (UTC)

According to the article, his paternal ancestors were francophone Canadians. My guess is that this is the "proper" spelling, though the accent was usually dropped. I've always heard his name pronounced "valley" (which is what "Vallėe" means), though in French it would be pronounced like the word "valet" (which is not what "Vallėe" means).
