Photos for Deletion

3/31/13 - Removed photo from I-35 section of article as picture was taken along I-35 in South Austin, nearly 20 miles away from Round Rock.

Please add your comments below the photos with your thoughts about them. I think they are of such poor quality that they greatly detract from the article, but also more importantly they detract from Round Rock. (See Georgetown's page for an example of better photos.) Conflict of Interest re Adding Language

Because of a relationship relating to La Frontera I have a WP:COI conflict of interest re adding the "La Frontera" name to this movie paragraph below. If any editor(s)are so inclined, and think it is relevant to the article, they may add the name on the article page roughly in the position shown below. Most articles re the movie list this location, and there are event tours to the site using the development name. Not sure I understand, Chzz. Or know what it is that you need as proof. Perhaps there is a better citation I can use. Below are cites from two newspapers. The house was located on Quick Hill Road, and Quick Hill Road is where La Frontera now sits (the road no longer exists and is essentially grown-over ashphalt. The house was moved by Dennis and Barbara Thomas to Kingsland. The info on this being the site of the house and the filimg of the movie is significant (mostly because of TCM groupies and site tours). I just did a Google search on "Frontera Chainsaw Massacre" and got over 100 hits!. Here are a few of them:

• 1)An Austin American-Statesman article called Howdy Neighbor, can I borrow your saw? pinpoints the La Frontera location.

• 2) Here is an AERIALof the site showing it next to the two Frontera Vista offfice buildings. Quick Hill road is to your left. ALL of the land shown here to the major roadway on your left is part of La Frontera. You can go to www.la-frontera.com to see the extent of the development land including The site plan

• 3) Here is the unofficial Texas Chainsaw Massacre (TCM) 'FAQ page that you questioned above. Question 16 relates to the site being within La Frontera. (I completely agree a fan club is not the best of references but they have by FAR the most detailed information and this page has bene up -- and updated regularly -- since at least 1989.)

• 4) The Director and an associate are actually (unbelievable to me that anyone would buy them) selling articfats from the movie that includes Artifacts from "La Frontera."

• 5) This local (Round Rock Leader) newspaper article identifies the site as just west of La Frontera, but what they mean to say is just west of what had been built so far at La Frontera.

So.....do you want or need more information? This is not an issue that is in any way in dispute. It was just an interesting fact I wanted to include because of all the people who find it interesting that it was filmed there. I personally get questions and receive calls about it all the time. But spending time today on proving this up is taking away from my work, my lunch, and from constructive edits.

I'm am happy to add it all over again, this time with better cites. I agree it needs the better cites too. Let me know if this meets with your approval.

Demographics

I removed the entire section below because it contradicts the previous info in this section, especially that from Money Mangazine. There are issues of whether this is using average "household" income or "per family" income - and how is that different? According to a 2007 estimate, the median income for a household in the city was $67,492, and the median income for a family was $76,062. Males had a median income of $41,971 versus $30,807 for females. The per capita income for the city was $24,911. About 2.8% of families and 4.0% of the population were below the poverty line, including 4.3% of those under age 18 and 6.7% of those age 65 or over.

The 'Historical Population' table, has a 2016 estimate of `Est. 2016 122,767 [39] 22.9%`, which references https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Round_Rock,_Texas#cite_note-USCensusEst2015-39, however that reference does NOT have a 2016 estimate. Self Disclosure - I made one edit of a citation today (out of many citations) in which I have a WP:COI personal conflict of interest. It is the last citation under "Cotton" and uses a book ("Austin" by Arcadia Publishing) that I wrote and used as a citation. I could find no other immediate replacement source but will continue to look for a replacement citation. Please feel free to revert this edit at any time if you feel it is inappropriate and/or uneeded. I have no intent re promoting the book by using it as a citation. Personally I see no problem with it. you are not "advertising" the book any more than all the other citations adveritise the books they quote. I assume it is a legtimate book and reference. I looked up the edit and see what CMR08 means. The problem is the reference is to the book publishing site, so it appers to be an ad for the book. Probably not what you intended. Suggest you take that out if not done so already. Then there should be no problem, I wouldn't think. And of course a replacement reference would be ideal.Iluvrr (talk) 14:31, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

Request for Copy Edit

Now that we have added 16 new sections, done extended fact-checking, substantially increased good citations, and went from two to 16 appropriate photos.....it is time to ask for a copy edit. We'd like to do this as part of the process to eventually seek a GA status. Before that, however, many of our citations need to be re-written into more standardized form. The above is a maintenance template (normally placed in an article rather than on its talk page), and is is not a focused way to call anyone here to perform a copyedit, given that there are currently about 5,000 articles with this particular tag emplaced. I think you will have a much better chance at getting action by posting a request at Wikipedia:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors/Requests. IH-35?

I'm guessing that this is meant to be Interstate Highway 35, which would normally be designated as I-35. Does IH-35 mean something else? Jtyroler (talk) 04:39, 2 September 2014 (UTC)

Climate Incorrect
