Please can you add that Ron played for a Portsmouth team called The Galleybirds immediately after ww2.

My grandad Les Langton, who is 100 in a few days time, (3/9/22), played in the same team as centre-half and says his sole job was to get the ball onto Ron’s head.

He remembers Ron with great affection and admiration
