St._Evasius is quite a mythological individual, that's true, but you cannot write an article placing him arond the end of the III century AND another saying he was the 4th bishop of Ast in 732. Most contemporary historians simply avoid bringing him in the count, those who do mainly put him in the 1st place. --92.112.86.113 (talk) 19:12, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

Removed flag of Republic of Italy

I removed the Italian Republic flag (of 1946) icon from the Infobox, in accordance with several sections of WP:ICON; specifically (quoting),

• Generally, flag icons should not be used in infoboxes, even when there is a "country", "nationality" or equivalent field: they are unnecessarily distracting and give undue prominence to one field among many....
• Flags make simple, blunt statements about nationality, while words can express the facts with more complexity. [Asti was for many centuries part of the German Empire (Holy Roman Empire), of the Duchy of Savoy, of the Kingdom of Sardinia, the French Republic, the Empire of Napoleon I, and under the domination of the French and the Spanish at various times. The Italian flag removed was that of the Republic of Italy, not created until 1946]....
• Do not rewrite history. Flags should not be used to misrepresent the nationality of a historical figure [including some bishops], event, object, etc. Political boundaries change, often over the span of a biographical article subject's lifetime. Where ambiguity or confusion could result, it is better not to use a flag at all, and where one is genuinely needed, use the historically accurate flag.

List of Parishes: Importance challenged

Problems with this section:

• (1) Individual items are not referenced; the general reference offered for the list leads to a web page which says "Indirizzo errato", 'erroneous link'; at the moment, then, the Section is unreferenced.
• (2) Wiki-links are to Italian communes, not to parishes, and the communes do not mention parishes; the article is not a directory to communes in the Piedmont;
• (3) doubtful purpose for the list, which section does not make clear. Is the list notable? Simply because it exists and can be cut-and-pasted, does not make it notable.

The list should probably be deleted, unless the problems mentioned can be addressed.
