Sir Robert Keith merger edit

I created the Sir Robert Keith article before I knew about this one. I think that the two should be merged soon. DCI2026 (talk) 02:18, 26 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Absolutely. Go ahead. --Thrissel (talk) 10:58, 26 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
Just completed the merger. The merged article, Robert Keith (soldier), includes most of the content from Sir Robert Keith, which is now a redirect page.DCI2026 (talk) 15:35, 26 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Page move edit

Just thinking that this page should be moved to something that includes his function of King's Marischal, every man of fighting age then(except those in holy orders, and then some of those too!) had to fulfil military duties. Something similar to the pre-Royal Stewards perhaps eg Alexander Stewart, 4th High Steward of Scotland? Robert Keith, Marischal of Scotland, Robert Keith, Marischal etc. Any objections? Brendandh (talk) 14:36, 29 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

"Soldier" does seem rather too laconic. Trouble is, his grandson Robert Keith (d. 1346) was a Marischal too. Robert Keith (d. 1332) perhaps? --Thrissel (talk) 17:01, 29 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
As per the Stewards maybe, or similarly to William de Percy, 1st Baron Percy who is completely different from Henry de Percy, 1st Baron Percy, insofar as the first was a Feudal Baron, whereas the latter a Peer? All early on in the development of the Peerages of both countries I suppose.Robert Keith, 6th Marischal of Scotland? The only fly in the ointment is that this Robert's grandpa, great grandpa and uncle shared the duties of the office of Marischal, so numbering them could be a problem. Although WP has got round this before by just numbering those with the same name with quasi-regnal numbers, so Robert I Keith, Marischal of Scotland and Robert II Keith, Marischal of Scotland perhaps.
