Positions section

The content here really needs to include positions that relate to RFK's 1968 campaign platform. It appears that the content on Civil Rights and Cuba in particular have been cut/pasted from other related RFK Wikipedia pages that cover time period before 1968. It isn't clear why they're included here. Could someone try to improve content for this section? Rosalina523 (talk) 18:20, 31 May 2012 (UTC)

Agreed. After seven years, I've taken care of removing these two irrelevant subsections. Cuba and the missile crisis were moot in 1968. A better civil rights section maybe could be written, but this would be tricky; we're flirting with original research here. RFK could boast of being the author of his brother's civil rights bill, but since JFK couldn't get it past the southern Democrats and LBJ did, he would in essence be "running against himself". Though it's a terrible thing to say, the timing of Martin Luther King's assassination was fortunate for RFK in that he could appeal to King's martyrdom. We need to go back to the historical literature to see how RFK actually campaigned on civil rights. JustinTime55 (talk) 15:05, 11 October 2019 (UTC)

Copyedit

I've copyedited what I can per a Kierzek's GOCE request, but it needs work beyond what I can do in a copy edit. The last thing I am going to do is remove the who tags I added and add the full names for the scholars the first time they are used. I've removed some content that came too close to speculating about the causes of RFK's assassination, specifically that Nixon ended up running against Humphrey and winning because this has nothing to do with RFK's campaign. I think going back to the sources and fleshing out the narrative further would be a good idea. In my estimation, I would say this is still C-class. Seraphim System ^(talk) 23:18, 21 June 2017 (UTC)

Uh...after the California primary, Bobby was immediately shot and his campaign ended. There was no Kennedy campaign for McCarthy advisors to join.
