There is no information given in this article about this man's ancestors or descendants. Additionally, his obituary claims he attained the rank of general in the Revolutionary War, though this seems highly unlikely.

Unsubstantiated genealogies list his parents as:

Samuel Brown (1714-1798, possibly born in Ireland), maybe served in French and Indian war? Jane Boyd (1721-1812, birth location unknown, possibly Scotland or PA, USA). Some confusion with Jane Craig, who is maybe Jane Boyd's mother?

Samuel's parents are Samuel Brown (1686-1749, likely born in Ireland) Ruth Young (1688-1768, possibly born in Ireland)

The elder Sam's father was possibly George Browne (absolutely no information on this person)
