Better Badges & user-promotion

I can vouch that Rob also ordered and paid for 100 badges from Better Badges for Slaughter & the Dogs.

Not long after he came back with a complete set of designs for Joy Division. BB went on to make badges for Unknown Pleasures and Closer. It became an issue as to whether these should receive FAC catalog numbers, and after some discussion it was Rob's decision that they fell into the same category as fanzines and other forms of user/outsider-promotion. Rob had a particularly sophisticated, if not unique, understanding of this process and actually operated it as a virtual polemic by the time he got to New Order. Thus, while traditional/formal methods of promotion and publicity were eschewed, fanzines, art-collaborations of all nature, creative merchandisers, even bootlegs, were encouraged. Despite major offers for New Order in 1983, subsequent to the underground success of Blue Monday, he stuck to his guns, such that, when they did eventually sign to Qwest they got an unprecedentedly generous deal.

Hacienda

The following sentence is not grammatical or logical. "Gretton was proprietor of the Rob's Records label and a co-founder along of The Haçienda nightclub in Manchester." It seems there is information missing after the word "along." Alexeykh (talk) 23:47, 27 November 2017 (UTC)
