Concerning the "lost" scene edit

I've uploaded this clip at http://www.sendspace.com/file/uunwbn . I'm not sure how long it will be up, so catch it while you can. I uploaded it as proof that this DOES exist - Ryan R.

And I have once again removed the note. Until a credible reference can be found (the link provided is dead), it has nothing to do here. Ramskjell 15:49, 5 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
Of course it'll be dead if you wait two months. I'll upload it again to my fileden account (it's hard to keep up due to the nature of the clip), but it's REAL and should be a part of this page. There is absolutely no way a fan or anyone could have edited this or made this, and several other people here claim to have seen the clip, as well.
For the record, only the animation of the scene exists. No dialogue. - Ryan R.
Okay, please download the clip at: http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/2/20/800088/banned_family_guy_scene.wmv
This is on my own webspace, so I won't leave it up forever. Can a few people please visit the link, watch the video, and write here that they saw it and it's real so we can finally put this to rest? - Ryan R.
This needs a citation, not statements from users. You need to verify that the clip is indeed made by Seth & Co. And please sign your comments with four tildes. Ramskjell 08:27, 11 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

From the article:

  • During the first A Way With Words In Marriage for Couples Who Communicate Not Good tape, Dr. Rebecca takes off her shirt and starts her seduction. The crew actually animated her taking off her bra and playing with a vibrator before the line "Do you want to see more?" The unaired clip has circulated on the Internet.

Is there any way this can possibly be true? That the animators would go through the time and expense of putting together a scene that they knew would never air anywhere? Never mind the fact that it would mean talking Victoria Principal into doing something approaching porn. I can't find any credible reference to this anywhere else. I say it's a hoax. Dyfsunctional 02:03, 12 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Its actually real as some of the animators have admitted the prank as part of an inside joke Grande13 02:28, 12 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

That may be so, but honestly, it sounds a bit hokey to me. I really would like to see a reference on this one. Is there an article or something somewhere where they're quoted as saying this? Dyfsunctional 14:17, 12 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

actually I think if you wanted to search the official blog... blog.familyguy.com they referenced it way back, but its going to take some searching...but it is mentioned there by an animator Grande13

I also think this is a hoax or a rumour. I have searched all over the net, and cannot find any mention of it, something which is odd if it indeed "has circulated on the Internet". I am going to remove it until anyone can find any credible references to it. Ramskjell 13:08, 17 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

I have actually seen the clip in question on YouTube awhile back. If the clip itself will be enough proof to validate the fact that this scene is, in fact real then I can try to find it and provide the URL (in discussion boards, of course, not in the main article). It might not be easy though, I stumbled onto the clip by complete accident and I don't even think it had any search tags other than Family Guy. It may have even been removed from YouTube since then due to its explicit content. Nahald 19:57, 21 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
I've seen the clip in question and it's an obvious fake. That's not Victoria Principal's voice and I don't think Fox would pay royalties to Tom Jones for a few seconds of one of his songs without his vocals in them. If I'm mistaken please, please, please, please, please give us a good, credible cite before you put it back in. 161.11.130.249 (talk) 21:23, 5 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
I agree, I highly doubt Seth is a pervert, I doubt he would even want to post such dirty scene. Besides by the time this episode was made, Family Guy was just beginning, they never used the f word fully until Petarded. They were just testing it in Brian Goes to Hollywood, what the hell am I talking about? It's not even relevant to this. TheBlazikenMaster (talk) 23:36, 5 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
  • How could ANYONE emulate the Family Guy animation THAT closely?

The clip in question has no speech during the "deleted" section, just animation. The presence of a Tom Jones song could have been in an early edit of the episode but was cut due to not wanting to pay him royalties. It could have also been added later because it may have seemed awkward for the scene to go on with no speech, etc.

Also, I believe on the official Family Guy DVD collection, music plays during the beginning of Dr.Amanda Rebecca's scene while she speaks. However, during the "lost" clip in question, there is the Tom Jones song and NO OTHER music behind it, which I think is further proof that the clip is real, as it would be impossible to remove the music originally found on the DVD without removing the speech.

I just don't see how it's even remotely possible for someone to be able to manipulate the original video and emulate the Family Guy animation style THAT closely. It seems totally real to me, but it would be nice to find a source. An above user claimed that it was mentioned briefly on blog.familyguy.com, but the search function does not work for me and I've been unable to find it.

I very much believe the animation is real, but of course there are many who don't for whatever reason, so I'd like to be able to find a good, official source for this. I want to keep this on the main page until we can find a source, as it may help in getting this confirmed or denied by someone who would know.64.53.37.3 (talk) 09:18, 31 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well, I believe there are some experts out there that makes stuff so real that it's impossible to tell it's fake. I really think it needs proof. I don't see why Seth would even think about showing tits on television. TheBlazikenMaster (talk) 22:48, 7 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
I would liken it to a lot of the "extra" scenes that appear only on the DVD editions of the later Family Guy box sets. Swear words, gags deemed inappropriate for television, and occasionally nudity, all of which were created and included on the DVD editions but never meant for television.
You'll notice, also, that on the DVD editions of the first three seasons, most episodes are the television versions, thus why this clip would be excluded. Swear words still edited, a couple scenes missing, etc. At the same time, no audio exists for the clip in question, only video.
Just the same - I'm sure there are a handful of "experts" out there who could pull off something like this, but why bother? Why spend hours and hours trying to 100% match the animation and style of Family Guy, take the time to create the animation, all for a few seconds of a hoax? It just doesn't seem likely to me that someone out there would take THAT much time to do something like this. 64.53.37.3 (talk) 07:39, 15 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
That is true. But I really think we need a reliable source. Maybe you could try to have an interview with Seth. TheBlazikenMaster (talk) 15:46, 15 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Goofs? edit

I removed the following:

  • When Brain puts out his cigarettes at the psychiatrists it splits into two with two ends lit.

I watched it over and over, and both ends were not lit.--Salvax T - C--23:03, 26 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Osama Bin Laden Scene edit

What I don't get is how this scene could be cut out if the episode aired a year and few months BEFORE the doomsday of World Trade Center? TheBlazikenMaster 20:39, 12 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:FGRoadtoRhodeIsland.jpg edit

I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. "Osama bin Laden" Scene Not Cut in UK edit

In the UK, I was watching this episode on FX (UK) and the "Osama bin Laden" scene was shown uncut. Should this be noted? Might need a citation though. --Zoton2 (talk) 23:58, 24 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

UK episodes and DVDs only has the last 7 secs cut where Bin Laden sings, NOW to provide this on this is very easy!??? How can we solve this problem, since the Section is rather misleading... --Crazyseiko (talk) 09:48, 9 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

As Zoton2 noted, any discussion of scenes cut or not cut should include a reliable source. If we can't find a reliable source discussing the matter, it's probably not significant enough for inclusion in any case. DonIago (talk) 14:42, 9 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
What if we change the it to say " In America....." since its only that part of the world its affecting? that would at least make it clearer --Crazyseiko (talk) 15:59, 9 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
Currently the section only makes assertions about DVDs and does specify which DVD releases are involved. I would oppose adding any other claims that aren't backed up with a source. Possibly I misunderstood you? DonIago (talk) 16:37, 9 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
What Im saying is we put in " In America....." at the start since it REALLY only does specify the USA DVD releases etc, and that way it helps solve half the problems, UK and many other areas around the world broadcast the cut scene and have it on their DVDs. The Ref only applies to USA. --Crazyseiko (talk) 19:24, 9 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
I don't think that's necessary. When the section starts talking about the edit it specifically mentions the US DVDs. DonIago (talk) 20:05, 9 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Bin Laden and Stewie songs edit

What is the tittle name of the songs sings by Stewie and Osama Bin Laden in the airport in the English dubbing?. --Ravave (talk) 16:08, 21 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Production section edit

Since this article has been nominated for GA, the production section needs to be heavily expanded. Most is just fluff information, while the rest does not apply to this specific episode. Reception section also needs to be beefed up. Ωphois 17:07, 20 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Rated "Mid" importance because it's the first "Road" episode (the Hope/Crosby series giving this significant interest outside FG articles), and a popular favorite. (Default importance for episodes is "Low".) / edg 08:15, 20 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
