Please do not delete the information and links about the promoter's track record (as reported by the Merced Sun-Star) and the proposed track's environmental impact statement. These are relevant, verifiable, and phrased to comply with wikipedia's neutral point of view policy.
You might also want to brush up on copyright law. It is legal to cite a newspaper article. In fact, wikipedia policy encourages citing newspaper articles. (If you doubt this, please check WP:C and WP:REF.) In the United States, copyrights cover "creative expression"; they do not cover information itself.

Square miles edit
