Cleaner river edit

Since the industrial pollution the River Irk [the open sewer], the river has grown cleaner. Ducks are now breeding on its banks. The local herons are fishing for their food. Many thanks to the local authorities, industries, farmers and people who live by the River for this to happen. It was once reported that King Stephen, once said that he had never tasted so good eels as came from the River Irk. We all hope the waters become clean enough to support fish life once again.

Greater Manchester edit

The river is within Greater Manchester, not wholly in Manchester and North West England is too large an area. I am mystified as to why Greater Manchester has been removed from the article so many times by Haldraper.J3Mrs (talk) 19:29, 12 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

The Fredrick Engles quote needs to be cited, as there is no source. Elloyd47 (talk) 07:32, 20 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
