The link at the bottom of the article (^ A scan from a retailer's catalog featuring GekiRinTohja. Retrieved on 2007-05-24.) leads to the same image as the Rinbeasts link right above it. anyone know an image of RinTohja, otherwise what's the point of the double link. I'll fix that in a bit.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 01:28, 31 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

My understanding is that there is edit warring over the translation of a Japanese phrase. Ryulong? Fractyl? Could you explain your views on why your version is right? MessedRocker (talk) 06:43, 2 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Suiryū (水流) is "water current" or "water stream." Omitting "water" is unnecessary and changes the translation.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 06:44, 2 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Not really, omitting "water" has no effect on the translation's meaning.
Also, in the context, "Stream" works well without water in this case as anyone would compare stream to water, but also as the terms relates to a "jetstream of water" used by Archerfish.
Fractyl apparently can back up his idea of the meaning of the word 水流 with a source. Though if I am not mistaken Ryulong is well-versed in the language. However, published sources trump a man knowing what the word means on Wikipedia. Also, aren't "stream" and "water stream" synonymous? (Incidentally, "水流" is Chinese for "small river", according to Wiktionary). MessedRocker (talk) 16:17, 2 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
That's what I thought too. I don't want to question Ryulong's skills, but translations aren't a absolute and depend on the content they are presented in. Fractyl 17:17, 2 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Well, in this situation, the monster is based off of an archerfish which spits water out to catch its prey. Using just "stream" in this case would be not descriptive enough to cover the technique based on the animal itself. This is why I felt that "water" was necessary to add to the translation.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 20:43, 2 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Well, the sitaution's a double pun. While "stream" and "water stream" are synonymous, "stream" may also be a pun on "jetstream of water". Fractyl 23:54, 2 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Seeing as there will be (or already was) a new episode, I'm temporarily lifting protection. However, I insist you abstain from editing that bit about the translation of 水流. MessedRocker (talk) 16:20, 2 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Ok. It may take a few days to gets things done here in detail. But either way, this affair would be put behind everyone in time. Fractyl 17:18, 2 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
