This page should not be speedily deleted because at the time the tag was placed on the article, it had not been completed. The article is now much more complete but still needs some additions, please allow me more time to finish it. --Luc.bouchard1 (talk) 23:27, 5 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Crossfit games is hardly a reliable source edit

I suggest the personal bests be deleted. If not, an investigation in whether this source can be trusted. It's no neutral media, to say the least... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.58.148.86 (talk) 17:21, 25 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

2011 Regionals edit

Why is there no result for 2011 Regionals? There must be a reason, but a quick web search didn't produce it. Rracecarr (talk) 14:52, 7 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Figured it out--he competed on a team (Crossfit Faith) at the 2011 Central East Regionals, finishing 8th, but, according to the rules at the time, was prequalified for the Games as an individual based on 2010 Games result. Rracecarr (talk) 15:17, 7 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
I can't find a direct source but if I remember correctly, in 2011, regionals were optional for the top five finishers from 2010. Athletes, such as Froning and Julie Foucher competed with teams. And I think Thorisdottir was the only pre-qualified athlete to compete in regionals individually. Yosemiter (talk) 15:23, 7 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, good info. Rracecarr (talk) 15:56, 7 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Proposed addition edit

  • Specific text to be added:

Froning trains with an AIRWAAV, a "performance mouthpiece" that's designed to enhance athletic performance by increasing the user's airway an average of 9%. A study in Journal of Strength and Conditioning showed an average mean width of 28.27 mm with the mouthpiece vs 25.93 mm without the mouthpiece. Froning says the mouthpiece is "bringing awareness to breathing" and helps him handle the challenges and "curveballs" at the CrossFit Games.

  • Reason for the change: Froning attributes part of his success to regulated breathing and training with the AIRWAAV. After reading the research on performance mouthpieces, he gave AIRWAAV a try. He likes it and says he now wears it for all of his training and competitions.
  • References supporting change:
