"Cheat" for the C64 version edit

Load program, type NEW. Then enter:

FORI=12288TO13503:POKEI,0:NEXT:SYS34800

This blanks all the sprites for your camel, making you invulnerable (as no collision with your camel willbe detected). Of course it also means you won't be able to see your camel, but it will let you survive every level. Cheers! RevJohn 08:59, 19 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Screenshot edit

Can someone get a screenshot of the original game for the Commodore 64? The Amiga pic shown isn't from the classic version (i.e. how I remember it)! --Thoughtcat 16:18, 6 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Done!--IconToga 21:33, 30 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
If you ask me, the ST/Amiga screenshot should be gone altogether. To me, ROTMC is primarily a C64 game. The ST/Amiga versions are mere afterthoughts and had far less coverage. Trust me, I've played both the original C64 version and the Amiga version. JIP | Talk 14:30, 13 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Release Date edit

This game was released way before 1991. I was a final-year university student in 1991, but I remember playing this game on the C64 when I was at school. I must have been about 15 or 16, which would put the release date around 1985 or 1986. I will try to find a citation and correct this. Magnate 16:45, 18 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

I think the problem here is that there are two versions; a C64 and an Amiga version. Because of the difference in hardware, these two are likely to be different enough to be effectively different games.
It's possible you might be thinking of Attack of the Mutant Camels, though, which IS a different game. Spottedowl 20:51, 18 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

I'm not, but that's a useful reference: the C64 version of RMC was released only a year or two after AMC, which would make it 1984 or 1985 (actually I still think 1986 is most likely). Still looking for a citation. Magnate 10:49, 21 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

The C64 and Amiga versions are more than "effectively" different games. The original C64 version had no power-ups or goat. Instead the camel could only move around and shoot, making the gameplay simpler, and more difficult. The power-ups and goat in the Amiga and Atari ST versions were needless clutter, in my opinion. The Amiga and ST versions also lack the wonderfully rendered "Ballet Egyptien" theme melody. In my opinion, the article should be rewritten to mainly cover the C64 version, with just a brief mention of the Amiga and ST versions. JIP | Talk 09:42, 8 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

This is a surreal game but not a surrealist game.--162.83.217.29 23:17, 20 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
