i am well aware that the comment i just added has a distinct pov. but it may prevent someone from doing something irreversible, at least until after more consideration.Toyokuni3 (talk) 15:41, 3 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Image edit

how does this picture relate to REfinishing. some sort of before and after would seem more appropriate.Toyokuni3 (talk) 04:50, 29 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Also, Windsor is misspelled, and I don't believe they are both Windsor chairs in the first place. If I'm not mistaken, only the one on the left with the rounded frame to the back, is a Windsor chair. Other than that, I agree with Toyokuni3. Zlama (talk) 05:21, 12 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Refinishing edit

If this article is on Refinishing, generically, as it appears to be from this title, then you need to expand it to include other kinds of refinishing, for example, the decorative arts mentioned in the first sentence. If it's only meant to be on refinishing wood, then the title needs to be altered to reflect that, e.g., wood refinishing.

"In woodworking and the decorative arts, refinishing refers to the act of repairing or reapplying the wood finishing on an object."

For me, there are a lot of problems in this one sentence. First, it appears that the current awkward wording was perpetrated simply to get in that link to the wood finishing article. Rather than trying to work it in this way, it would make more sense to just say that up front, e.g., "Refinishing is done to repair or replace existing wood finishing," or something along those lines. Also, the existing sentence should really say "...repairing or reapplying the finishing on a wooden object," because there is nothing in this stub about anything but wood finishes. So, it seems that bringing in "the decorative arts" is a bit of a focus blurrer. Zlama (talk) 05:38, 12 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
