"Reality is the state of things as they really exist" ?!

Doesn't this sound a little bit circular?

Yes, in a way, but of course reality is such a broad and foundational term it is hard to briefly describe with other terms. I guess we can change it to Reality is generally held to be the "the state of things as they actually exist as opposed to how they possibly could exsist." Then again, we could just delete it outright, as wikipedia is not a dictionary. I think I will just remove for now. I'm not in the mood for a philosophical debate. When I created this article, I just took the definition from the first line of the article reality. I've gone ahead and made your suggested change.
