Who co-authored book edit

The book which serves as the only source (at this time) for the information on the Ray C. Hunt page was co-authored by Bernard Norling. Sometimes you wonder who these co-authors are who probably do most of the work taking an old soldier's memories and compiling them into a book. I did a search and discovered that Dr. Bernard Norling was professor emeritus of history at the University of Notre Dame (United States). He died on 17 September 2003. Norling specialized in military history and the history of medicine. The reference is http://newsinfo.nd.edu/news/6884-history-professor-bernard-norling-dies-at-age-79/

Some of Norling's books:

  • The Intrepid Guerrillas of North Luzon (1999)
  • Lapham's Raiders: Guerrillas in the Philippines, 1942-1945 with Robert Lapham (1996)
  • The Nazi Impact on A German Village with Walter Rinderle (1993)
  • Behind Japanese Lines: An American Guerrilla in the Philippines with Ray C. Hunt (1986)
  • Return to Freedom: The War Memoirs of Colonel Samuel C. Grashio USAF with Samuel C. Grashio (1982)
  • Understanding History through the American Experience with Charles Poinsatte (1976)
  • Timeless Problems in History (1970)
  • Towards a Better Understanding of History (1960)

Note that in "Behind Enemy Lines" it is stated that Ray Hunt's captaincy was made official and that he stayed in the USAAF after WWII, became a fighter pilot and saw action in the Korean War, eventually retiring as Lt. Colonel. The article does not currently reflect this.119.148.234.110 (talk) 12:58, 4 August 2017 (UTC)Reply
