Queen Rasoherina's 2nd husband? edit

Can anyone identify the man in this photograph? Some years ago, I acquired a matching pair of old carte de visite photos by "Photographie Franck" of Paris, labeled "Reine de Madagascar" and "Roi de Madagascar". The "Reine" was clearly Queen Rasoherina, and that photo is the one used in this article's infobox. The companion photo, though, is more of a problem, especially given the complex interrelationships of the Merina dynasty. I have seen decent illustrations of Rasoherina's 1st (Radama II) and 3rd (Rainilaiarivony) husbands, and would find it hard to call either a match with this photo. Could this be Rainivoninahitriniony, Rasoherina's 2nd husband, whom I've not seen illustrated before? To my eye, the man in the photo has some resemblance to Rainilaiarivony, who would have been his half-brother if that identification is correct. Tim Ross (talk) 13:24, 18 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for posting this... According to another source, it's a photo of Rainilaiarivony, her third husband. I just found a photo of Rainivoninahitriniony and uploaded it to his article. Lemurbaby (talk) 18:52, 26 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Rasata, Ratahiry and Rasoaveromanana edit

Who was Prince Rasata in terms of relation to her and the royal line? Also whose the father(s) of Ratahiry and Rasoaveromanana? Were they Raharolahy's or illegitimate children of the Queen?--KAVEBEAR (talk) 03:18, 23 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Catholicism edit

Did she convert to Catholicism on her deathbed? This [1] seems to say so but from what I read the ceremony seemed forced on her by a Jesuit physician. --KAVEBEAR (talk) 03:26, 23 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
