Boundary problem edit
We give the common boundary of Rancho Piedra Blanca and Rancho San Simeon as Arroyo del Padre Juan Moreno. However, the survey maps for Piedra Blanca (1876) and San Simeon (1860) give this as Arroyo del Pinal, and the USGS 1:24,000 quad maps show this common boundary at Pico Creek (which is the large drainage just N of San Simeon Acres (new San Simeon). The course of Pico Creek on the topo matches the old survey plats pretty well, so I think that Pico Creek = Arroyo del Pinal. By comparison, Arroyo del Padre Juan Moreno, the next drainage S of Pico, is the minor drainage that has the San Simeon sewage plant at its mouth.

Area of land grant edit
Just for fun, I divided the area (in acres) by 11 leagues, and got about 4436 acres per square league -- compare this to 4428 acres in a "standard" Spanish American colonial league. Pretty close! --Pete Tillman (talk) 20:06, 20 May 2015 (UTC)
