Geography (and history) edit
I would be very interested in reading more about the natural geography of the area, e.g the route of the river,and historical info like the site of the rath, and the history of the graveyard. (?)

- Well done to the various contributors since I last logged on, and the person who tidied things up. I note the population figure, which is similar to my own summing of the six electoral wards of the area, two entirely in Raheny and four mostly. Thanks to the weird nature of electoral boundaries in Ireland, and the regrettable failure to match them to real areas, precision with population is difficult, whereas land area is at least roughly feasible.

Postcards edit
I see the postcards mentioned above. I remember different types, many years ago, and then reappearing back around 2000. Last time I saw them was maybe 2005, with two series, one of old map images, one of small scenes from all over the district. The latter I remember being on sale in Barry Walsh's Post Office in aid of the Hospice, the former I think were in the library, which also has some old maps on the wall. Would anyone have some unused to post, as mine are all long used for actual mailing.
And while I am on, have we any Gaeilgeoiri to write a few words? There was an Irish language association, was it Pobal Eanna, but I don't recall hearing of it for many years. Twilson r 12:04, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

"AIB Bank" dead link. edit

Further work edit
After the major review of references, and some expansions:
- Trotting track (1940s to late 1950s?, or later)
- Speedway / dirt-track MC racing on above
- Nursing homes (St Gabriel's, Edenmore / HSE Raheny Community Nursing Unit - 100 beds / Raheny House (former Garda) / Sybil Hill - Little Sisters of the Poor)
