Brazil

This article should have a subtitle for "Brazil", as Brazilians are thoroughly different from Latin Americans. Besides the Portuguese colonization, Brazilian Indians are not the same as the other Indians in the Americas. --Betty VH (talk) 22:05, 5 October 2017 (UTC)

Confused about the math here

The article says "the percentages of people identifying as fully black or indigenous has increased over the course of the twentieth century as the mixed class expanded", but my hazy understanding suggests that it is more likely that the percent identifying as black would DEcrease as more people chose to identify as mixed.

Race and ethnicity in Latin America Project

I plan to improve the racial concepts illustrated, give more comparison among Latin America countries, add more sections on different countries and give equal comparison to United States. More specifically, The Top 5 countries with migrants to the United States from each region will be explored and a supplementary exploration of Puerto Rico as a commonwealth will be given due to its geographical location in the Caribbean but also its political dependency to the United States. In South America, there will be an exploration on the countries of Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Brazil, and Venezuela which were the top 5 countries with migrating individuals to the United States in 2017. Then, the countries of El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama will be explored for Central America. Following, the countries of Cuba, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Haiti, and Trinidad and Tobago will be investigated. Mexico will then be particularly investigated for the North American region given its geographical division between North America and Central America. Overall, this is important to improve of Wikipedia’s coverage of Latin American topics due to Wikipedia being a global source that can give the various perspectives and points of views to the diverse region itself rather than a narrow-minded one. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Capitanaamerica (talk • contribs) 16:57, 20 March 2021 (UTC)
