New missile edit

An article from Discovery mentions the Topol SS-25:

'Speedest'? edit

I've removed the sentence 'It is the speedest missile ever made' because (a) this isn't a word; (b) its uncited; and (c) it isn't clear if this means the fastest in flight, the fastest to be launched after being told to, the fastest to program for a new target, etc. --Wranadu2 (talk) 18:35, 11 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Velocity edit

This is listed as "33 Mach (25-30 KM per Sec)"

Would be very interesting, except that 33 Mach is, depending on conditions, more like 13km/s than 30. Which is it, Mach 33 or 25-30km/s? Needs clarification. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 139.168.203.46 (talk) 21:22, 28 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Public domain photos edit

Vitaly V. Kuzmin has released photos of the RT-2PM2 into public domain. Useful for purposes of Wikipedia. WillowDRosenberg (talk) 23:11, 23 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

RT-2 edit

"Russia plans to reequip approximately 400 silos where obsolete UR-100, RT-2 and MR-UR-100 missiles are located."

RT-2 is imho ancient history and there are no silos to be 'reequiped' afaik, since their shelf life is 15 years (source palba.cz forum) and they are out of service since late 70s. Same goes for UR-100 (not UR-100MR which is different and 20 years older design).

Summa summarum, that claim makes very little sense (to me). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.112.108.182 (talk) 16:18, 31 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

unsuccessful attempts ? edit

"It was deployed after two decades of unsuccessful attempts by different design bureaus
to create a reliable mobile launch system. It emerged from the same line of
development as mobile missiles such as the RT-21 Temp 2S
and the RSD-10 Pioneer, and was deployed as a replacement
for the widely deployed UR-100."

- Sorry but the Topol is a mere improvement over those two earlier ICBM complexes and was developed as a modification since it's blueprints come from the very same bureau and the very same man, not because the other systems were "unsuccessful attempts". Especialy the Pioneer is to have shown very satisfying results and was primary surgical strike capability against NATO's strategic missile forces. I had to edit that section because it was desinformative TheMightyGeneral (talk) 16:37, 3 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
