SMERSH were also a fairly influential experimental band in the mid to late 80s. I would think that it deserves at least a mention. What say you fine folks? ;-)

6 August 2008 - What is the guideline here?

I am unsure how to address the notability issue because there doesn't seem to be a guideline for record labels in particular. Is there one?
The thing about this article is that RRRecords is kinda obscure by nature. Nobody is getting media attention and fame from it. That doesn't mean that RRRecords have not released important things. They certainly have. There are many artists in their back catalogue that are relatively well-known within the noise and experimental scenes now. I have been trying to find articles and sites that refer to RRRecords, so I will link them here, and hopefully someone can help out with them.

Searching Wikipedia for "rrrecords" will give similar results. Artists such as Prurient, Merzbow, Sutcliffe Jugend, Nurse With Wound, and Masonna have released albums on the label, and this can be confirmed by looking at their discographies here or elsewhere.

Pronunciation

I removed the claim that RRRecords is pronounced "Triple R records". There was no citation given, and I do not recall ever hearing anyone use this pronunciation when I lived in Lowell (1985-1990 (I realize that was quite a while ago)). There is also this:" 12. Taking the commuter rail line from Boston to Lowell, Mass. to find the RRRecords store and pick up an armload of amazing records. When I asked the store's owner Ron Lessard if he preferred the store/label being called "R-R-R" (as I have always done) "or triple R" records (as I often hear people say), he threw his arms in the air like Tony the Tiger and said "Rrr-ekids!"
