Conflict of interest edit

Hello Jake Brockman, we are aware of the conflict of interest here. We are a communications agency based in Heidelberg, Germany and support the RKW Group. Therefore, we are being paid on behalf of RKW. We have backed up all claims with original documentation as long as it is available. In addition, we would like to help improving the article in line with Wikipedia criteria and propose a few changes. CommHa —Preceding undated comment added 09:50, 12 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

In 1957, Jakob Müller founded the RKW Group as Rheinische Kunststoffwerke GmbH in Worms, Germany.

In 1957, Jakob Müller founded the Rheinische Kunststoffwerke GmbH in Worms. The aim was to concentrate on the development, production and advancement of polyethylene films while the affiliate company Renolit developed and manufactured PVC films. This allowed both companies to cultivate their own core competences.

Until the mid-1960s, RKW expanded in northern and southern Germany with locations in Echte and Petersaurach. In 1966, RKW Iter in Spain was the first location outside of Germany. At the end of the 1990s, the still continuing internationalization of the company begun.

RKW always combined its international expansion with acquisitions that extended know how for specific applications and technologies in the area of films and nonwovens. In 1988, the Belgian company ACE S.A. joined the group and was the first non-German RKW plant to manufacture hygiene films and medical products. RKW Sweden and thus the company's own production of compounds and filled polyolefins (FPO) followed one year later. Apart from the acquisition of further production plants in France and Finland as well as a sales location in the United States, RKW took over four locations of former BP Plastics in 2002. Between 1998 and 2003, annual sales approximately quadrupled.

Over the last ten years, the focus was on expansion beyond Europe, starting with the company's first site in Asia. RKW's subsidiary in Vietnam has been part of the group since 2004

Product range

Every year, the RKW Group processes 380,000 tonnes of polypropylene and polyethylene into films and nonwovens which are then converted into a diverse range of products. Focal areas are, for example, hygiene and medical products such as diapers and films for wound-care plasters, packaging for consumer goods, especially beverage and industrial packaging (for example, packaging for powdery goods), bags and pouches as well as highly technical films that are further processed industrially. The legally independent subsidiary RKW Agri GmbH produces films and nets for the agricultural and construction sectors.
