Tangerine Dream (1981 album) → Quichotte (album) – The album was first released in East Germany as Quichotte by Amiga in 1981. In 1986 it was released for the rest of the world as Pergamon by Virgin Records. At no time was the album named Tangerine Dream, despite Warriorofair using that rationale for the recent 5 July move. The 1981 album art showed the band name, not the album name. The 1981 LP labels show the album name as Quichotte. Band member Johannes Schmoelling lists the album on his personal website as Quichotte. The 1997 book by Paul Stump titled Digital Gothic: A Critical Discography of Tangerine Dream lists the album as Quichotte on pages 76, 79 and 141. The only conceivable alternate name for this article about the 1980 live/studio album is Pergamon (album) because of the Virgin release of 1986, and every subsequent release. See AllMusic' page on Pergamon. The Paul Stump book uses both names on page 94, writing "Pergamon aka Quichotte..." None of these sources call the album by the band's name.
