Fair use rationale for Image:PUMASDORADOSLOGO.PNG edit

Image:PUMASDORADOSLOGO.PNG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 00:24, 6 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Delete or rewrite edit

This article reads like an advertisement or press release. It needs to be rewritten. There are also notability issues: Is this team even marginally notable in the English-speaking world? The fact that it is not in the Spanish Wikipedia is either a major oversight or a good clue that it is not notable in Mexico much less the English-speaking world. I'm going to tag it rewrite it as a stub, and leave it up to someone who knows Mexican football to add real content. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 14:48, 21 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Correction: it's not notable as evidenced by a lack of Wikipedia articles. Any relevant content can be added to UNAM#Professional football team or Mexican College Football. If someone has a substantial amount of encyclopedic content, re-create the article. Prod'ing. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 15:02, 21 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

You're wrong : it exists but its under this name: "Pumas CU" and it's relevant at least for the USA because the University of Notre Dame had high influence in UNAM's traditions. if you have questions or need more information email me: gebcas@hotmail.com —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.146.250.160 (talk) 05:40, 21 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Notre Dame? edit

Isn't there supposedly some history involving Pumas and Notre Dame? I've heard that coaches from Notre Dame taught students at UNAM how to play the game back in the 1920's. That'd certainly be a historical tidbit worth writing up.

Yes you are right Notre Dame had influence in UNAM's traditions, the football team (not the SOCCER one), the Anthems and Colors, this article should be merged with this one : "Pumas CU" if you need help with this please email me: gebcas@gmail.com —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.146.250.160 (talk) 05:29, 21 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
