I would like to know why all of the Battle articles have been reverted to this page. This page is supposed to be a grand overview of the campaign and should not include every detail of every battle on this page. Every other campaign article on wikipedia is structured in a treelike manner with the branches going as follows a main page for the war or general campaign, subpages for the supcampaigns or operations, and then articles on each individual battle. By merging all of the battles you are going against set precident. The western front article does not contain details on all of the battles fought in it, nor do the various civil war campaigns, or nearly every other campaign article on wikipedia. • All of the battles were redirected to this page because they are all part of the "Puerto Rican Campaign" of the Spanish-American War. Articles that compose part of a much larger subject are and can be merged into said larger subject and may be expanded there. All of the redirects were "stubs" and not complete articles "per se". You are wrong when you state that this article is supposed to be a grand overview of the campaign. This article is about the complete campaign and will include as much detail as needed be of every battle. Putting it simple, either we merge them here or we get stuck with one Start-class article and eight stubs. Most of these "battles" lasted less than a day, there is absolutely no way that they can be developed further than 2,000 - 3,500 bytes each. Comparing the Puerto Rican Campaign to the American Civil War is utterly ridiculous, the civil war lasted four year and this one less than a week, there is not enough material to "branch", either we keep them here and reach at least Good Article status or we let them rot like it was done since their creation in 2005. - Caribbean~H.Q. 01:51, 2 August 2008 (UTC)

Result

I would like to know the reasoning behind listing the campaign results as inconclusive, when the american forces were victorious and the spanish left the island. User:XavierGreen —Preceding undated comment was added at 23:20, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

The American side won the Spanish-American War, however this campaign wasn't finished, the offensive was suspended while there was no clear victor. Anyway the current content avoids getting into that all together, only stating Spain's surrender. Please stop using your IP address to edit war, you already filled the WP:3RR limit. - Caribbean~H.Q. 23:26, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

• Comment, In the infobox let's not include the phrases "inconclusive" nor blantly state that the "United States Won" as in some cases it can be considered as POV or taunting. The United States won the Spanish American War and this fact is appropiate for the "Spanish American War" infobox. The "Result" in the infobox of the Puerto Rico Campaign should contain the outcome of said campiagn with neutral stance which states that "Spain surrendered and ceded Puerto Rico to the United States after the Treat of Paris of 1898 was signed." This statement covers the results of the campiagn without offending anyone nor entering into POV's. Can we agree to this and put it all behind us? Tony the Marine (talk) 00:40, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

I took a read through the article, it looks to me like this was militarily inconclusive, the campaign had no real winner becuase the armistace was signed before any descive action could occur; however, owing to the territorial change, it could be said to be an American strategic victory, so that is an option for inclusion as a result. Personally, I think "militarily inconcusive, Spains cedes Puerto Rico in accordance with the Paris Peace Accords" would be the best phrase for the result tab provided that reliabel sources can be found to source both claims.
